That is the intended route. However, every time one reads the news, there seems to be a different country en route that is trying to get itself into a frenzy, with no consideration for our plans! We will see where we go when it actually happens.

Well done team, we are so very proud of you for reaching Cairo….and in good health and spirit! The second half of your trip looks to be enormously exciting and challenging. Hope the flights go well, bikes arrive in Istanbul and you get to the Iranian border in time!!!

Sounds very exciting Mal. I’m looking forward to your blog reports. Syria, Iran, Pakistan…Yikes! I’d be very careful in these countries. Have you considered a more northern route say Egypt boat to Turkey then up through Kazakhstan and across China? – have you got visas for each country or will you be getting them at the border? Man this is going to be a cool trip, can hardly wait to hear about your adventures.
