Hi Shan. Saw an idea that might work well for your photography on your travels. Take selfportraits (you in center frame) with as many different backgrounds, people, scenery etc as possible on the remainder of the journey. When you get back compile the thousands of pics into a 2 minute time lapse video on You Tube. That way everyone sees hundreds of pics really easily instead of them all sitting on a harddrive somewhere. Happy adventuring. love Joelle

    • On it… booya!! Jules and I both started the trip doing that but after a couple months mine started to slow down a bit. Jules has been on the burn with the self portraits though (and gets many odd looks when people see him posing for a photo all on hi own!). I’ll step up to the plate though and take a whole bunch more before we finish. Sure I can cram a few more in this last month… 😉 Love to you and the family!! Shan

    Hi Shan
Here’s an idea for a photo montage or time lapse slideshow. Take self portraits with as many diffrerent backgrounds, people, scenes etc. When you get home compile them into a 2 minute time laspe you tube video. Great way for everyone to see thousands of pics real quick. Happy adventuring! love Joelle

Hi folks where are you now? Are you entering Ethiopia? Arrival day in Addis?
Are you tightly planned on the roads you use? A suggestion: coming up from Kenya toward Addis you reach a town called Ziway. In town we eat at the International Hotel, about one third along, left side, slightly hidden. A bit beyond the hotel, in town, a tar road unsigned to the left takes you 55km to T-junction at Butajera, there turn right on tar to Addis. (NB at the end of Ziway there is a clear roadsign left to Butajera, but you have gone too far, that is the old road which rapidly turns into a rutted mess). Next T-junction 150+km, turn right to Addis, come in from the west. Better, less trafficked, more beautiful road than main road. Ca 25 km longer in total. Ring me as you go. Anton

  7. Hi Guys!!!

Have a great ride, you will have plenty of fun!!! My wife and I rode all the way up as far as Sweden last year, and most of the way back – http://www.larrysharon.blogspot.com – and will happilly help with any info you might need!
Our next plan is similar to yours, but in reverse – New Zealand, Aus, Asia, Russia, Africa, home again. Will be following your progress avidly!
You might have too much luggage, and too little time!!

Hello the 4 from CT! thanks for your updates – we look forward to hearing what you are up to and continue to pray for you all!
JB – did you email Irish saying that you have photos that you are going to send? If that is the case – we will look out for them ( if not – we are wary of viruses posing as real emails!!)
    God bless you all!

    • Yours and the team’s footsteps will be hard to match! Having followed your adventure, and now doing it ourselves seems a bit surreal. Thanks for your tips which will be invaluable. Keep well and regards to the others. Mal
